The next Toy Story installment will take viewers to infinity and beyond! The first trailer for Disney’s Lightyear was released last October, giving audiences a glimpse of the film’s beautiful animation and futuristic setting. The classic David Bowie song “Starman” sets the mood for most of the trailer and gives viewers a taste of what to expect from the animated film. A second trailer was released this past February, further whetting audiences’ appetites for the much-anticipated release.
What’s it about?
Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story movie series is an action figure and this film will focus on the Buzz Lightyear character that the action figure is based on. Here’s the official word:
The definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, “Lightyear” follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda. A new poster and images are also available.
This time around Chris Evans, will be the voice of the film’s star Space Ranger.
