Naya Rivera’s Final Role as the voice of Catwoman

With the release of Batman: The Long Halloween there have been mixed sentiments. While the two-part film has been long anticipated by fans, the memory of the late Naya Rivera is brought into the viewers’ minds as she voices Catwoman in part one.

In Batman: The Long Halloween Part One movie, Batman is on his way to solve different murders in Gotham, where he crosses paths with Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. He then asks Catwoman, “Why are you running?”

To which Catwoman replies, “You could use a little fun.”

Naya Rivera’s enthusiasm for the role of Catwoman could not go unnoticed as she sank her claws to portray the best in her final role before she died. The Glee alum could not hide how important this meant to her as she talked to Entertainment Tonight.

“Of course, there’s a special significance for characterizing Catwoman,” She said.

Naya Rivera made this clearer when she stated that all actresses she had ever admired had played the role of Catwoman in some way. “I’m honored to play Catwoman for this film.” She told ET.

Some of the characters featured in Batman: The Long Halloween – Part One movie include Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne/ Batman alongside the late Naya Rivera as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, David Dastmalchian as Calender Man, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Jack Quaid as Alberto, Troy Baker as the Joker, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, and Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon.

Butch Lukic, the supervising producer, said Rivera brought incredible voice and range to the DC film. While it had real power, he admits that Naya was able to control it flawlessly. Butch also said Naya was suggested for the role because of her performance in the “Glee” series.

Naya Rivera had taken the role of Santa Lopez in Glee prior to this, where she showcased her outstanding trained singing voice. This feature gave her the opportunity to play the longtime Batman femme fatale. “Naya delivered. She only needed a few takes in the entire recording.” Said Butch Lukic.

The movie is dedicated to Naya Rivera, who esteemed the chance to play Catwoman. Lukic recognizes that she was able to add a sultry quality and get playful while portraying confidence and inner strength. “We were all enamored of her and were eagerly anticipating possible future performances. It’s a great tragedy she’s gone now,” Butch said.
