A new animated movie titled Meet the Flintstones is in development. The film will be written by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who directed The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It will focus on the origins of the Flintstones family, most likely focusing on the early days of Fred and Wilma meeting. This will be the third feature film adaptation of Hanna Barbera’s classic cartoon, The Flintstones, following the 1994 live-action film, The Flintstones, and the 2000 direct-to-video animated film, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones is a wacky animated adventure where the world’s favorite Modern Stone Age Family comes face to face with the First Family of the Future.

Bedrock is an adult animated sequel series to Hanna-Barbera’s original animated series, The Flintstones. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Elizabeth Banks. It will feature the Flintstone family two decades after the original series. Fred Flintstone will be on the brink of retirement and 20-something Pebbles Flintstone will be embarking on her own career. The series will be a primetime animated adult comedy series continuing the story of the Flintstone family. The release date of the series has not been announced yet. The talent behind the new series include Elizabeth Banks, who is the creator and producer, Lindsay Kerns, who is writing and co-executive producing the pilot script and Lon Zimmet, who is writing and executive producing.
Elizabeth Banks has produced several projects throughout her career, some receiving critical acclaim – Pitch Perfect (2012), Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Mrs. America (2020).
