King Kong’s New Animated Series

Skull Island is an upcoming animated series produced by Legendary Pictures and Netflix. It is set in the MonsterVerse franchise and follows the adventures of a group of shipwrecked researchers who wash ashore on a remote island paradise, only to discover that it’s teeming with gargantuan, seemingly impossible monsters. The series is animated by Powerhouse Animation and was originally scheduled to be released in 2022, but was pushed back to June 22, 2023. The show will feature the greatest titan of them all, Kong, and other prehistoric monsters. The voice cast includes Nicolas Cantu, Darren Barnet, Mae Whitman, Benjamin Bratt, and Betty Gilpin. The series is written by Brian Duffield and executive produced by Duffield and Jacob Robinson. The first trailer for the series was released on May 23, 2023, and it showcased the Titans wreaking havoc on Skull Island.

The Voice Talent Behind Skull Island

The main voice actors for the Skull Island Netflix animated series are Nicolas Cantu, Mae Whitman, Darren Barnet, Benjamin Bratt, and Betty Gilpin. They will lend their voices to the characters in the series, which is set to debut on June 22, 2023. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Brian Duffield, with Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers, and Thomas Tull also executive producing. The animation is by Powerhouse Animation, known for their work on Castlevania and Blood of Zeus.

How Does Skull Island fit into the MonsterVerse Franchise

The series is set in the same universe as the MonsterVerse franchise, which includes Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
