Elemental – Pixar’s Next Feature

In their new animated movie Elemental, the studio will bring to life the thoughts, feelings, and opinions of air, earth, wind, and fire. This is a departure from their previous work animating toys, cars, and even emotions themselves. The studio is confident that they can do justice to the complex inner lives of the elements and create a moving and thought-provoking film.

Pixar’s 27th feature film, Elemental, is set to release in 2023. With a stellar lineup of animated films set for release in 2022, including Turning Red and Lightyear, fans can look forward to another great year from Pixar. Elemental will be an original story that is sure to please viewers of all ages.

Pixar’s latest film project will be helmed by animated film makers Peter Sohn and Denise Ream, who have previously worked together on The Good Dinosaur. With an impressive track record of directing and producing animated films for Pixar between them, the pair are sure to create another hit.

So what is Elemental all about?

From Pixar:

“The film journeys alongside an unlikely pair, Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. The fiery young woman and the go-with-the-flow guy are about to discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common.”

In the animated film Elemental, four elements come to life and live in one big city. The story focuses on a couple, Ember and Wade, as they explore the city and learn about the different elements. Ember is a fiery young woman, while Wade is more relaxed and go-with-the-flow. Together, they journey through the city and discover all that it has to offer. Though they are different in many ways, the couple comes to realize they have many similarities on their journey. The odd duo of Wade and Ember will give audiences an interesting perspective into the lives of the elements.

Pixar released a concept image of Wade and Ember on May 16, 2022. The image shows the two exploring a city filled with different elements that appear to be living in harmony. While Wade looks cheerful and happy, Ember looks almost disgruntled, representing fire.

Pixar has a long history of using light-hearted storylines to explore deep and thought-provoking topics. Given this, it’s likely that Elemental will tackle the misguided belief held by many that some groups or individuals cannot live in harmony. With director Sohn’s personal life story as influence, the animated film is likely to give a significant focus to racial and nationality issues. If you’re looking for a story with classic elements but a unique twist, look no further than Sohn’s latest film. “Our story is based on the classic elements—fire, water, land, and air,” said the director. “Some elements mix with each other, and some don’t. What if these elements were alive?” This simple question forms the basis of an exciting and thought-provoking film that is sure to leave audiences captivated.
